Aside from the sporting facilities themselves, one of the most significant developments within the Olympic Park, and the chief business space legacy, is the Media Village. Located in the north-west corner of the Park, the Media Village will be home to the world’s media for the 2012 Olympic Games and will provide office and studio space for 20,000 journalists and broadcasters.
The Main Press Centre (MPC) will accommodate the world’s written media, with broadcast services being housed in the adjacent International Broadcast Centre (IBC). The Media Village has an excellent location adjacent to existing and planned public transport nodes. An enhanced public transport system will make the area one of the best-connected places in the UK, with Hackney Wick station only a short walk away, whilst also being served by an adjacent multi-storey car park with easy access to the A12 and beyond to the North Circular, M11 to the east and the A11 and Central London to the west.
