Lecture Series - Sustainable Legacy
Date: 26 November 2008
Time: 4.30pm - 8.00pm
Location: University of Westminster
The Sustainable Legacy was held at the University of Westminster on Wednesday 26 November, 2008.
The lecture explored legacy in its widest possible sense including the physical, environmental and socio economic regeneration of East London. It began with a discussion of community environment programmes from supporting recyclables to supporting the transport infrastructure on the local canal network and the outline plans for delivering the Legacy Masterplanning Framework (LMF) - a spatial plan for homes, parkland, schools, workspace, health and sporting facilities to be developed on the Olympic Park site after the 2012 Games.
There were six panellists at the Sustainable Legacy lecture who covered a wide range of topics including aspirations to achieve the greenest Games to date and the role of sustainability in making new communities.
