Our Feedback
In this section we offer our feedback to you about what we’ve heard and learnt from the recent consultation events and activities which have taken place.
2009 Olympic Legacy Spring Consultation
During this formal consultation period (February and March 2009) on the draft legacy plans, 110 people and organisations submitted written responses, over 350 attended workshops and meetings, nearly 3000 visited the website to review the plans and 18,000 summary leaflets were distributed. Feedback from all of this activity has been reviewed and is forming part of the legacy plan revisions currently underway. Details of how and why the plans have changed will be shared over spring/summer 2010.
2008 Olympic Legacy Autumn Consultation
Following the 2008 summer public consultation events, we focused on a series of deep and targeted consultation activities to explore the latest emerging masterplan designs with a range of stakeholders.
During this time, a total of 18 community workshops were held with over 200 people in attendance. The team also attended over 40 independent stakeholder events to discuss the latest plans with a broader range of people and groups. These activities were complimented by the Technical Working Group sessions where more than 50 different organisations were represented. To find out more about this work and the detail that was discussed please read our Autumn Consultation Report:
Local and Topic Workshops
In autumn 2008, the London Development Agency (LDA) held a series of 11 workshops to share the emerging ideas and proposals with community organisations, representatives, special interest groups and local residents. These workshops gave a great opportunity for the community and stakeholders to find out more about the LMF process and to contribute their ideas and concerns as we worked towards developing a preferred option. Reports summarising the detail discussed at each of the workshops are available below as well as the presentation given at each of the workshops:

2008 Olympic Legacy Roadshow
Between 21 June and 20 August 2008, almost 3,000 people took part in the LDA's Legacy Now roadshow. The roadshow included 10 consultation events and smaller scale visits to over 20 community events. It represented the first phase of public consultation on the spatial legacy planning for after the 2012 Games. Throughout all our consultation and engagement activity we aim to ensure trust, empower the public and demonstrate accountability.
The 'hands-on' consultation saw people build their own 'mini city' by physically placing housing, parkland, shops and other features on a large scale map of the Olympic Park.
Other innovative activities included an interactive model game to prioritise the importance of facilities and services, a director's chair where their thoughts and aspirations were recorded, and 'postcards from the future' to capture thoughts on what the area should become. Young children also got involved by taking part in making models of 2020 homes.
Below is both a summary of the consultation results and the full consultation report:
