Future Olympic Park

When the London 2012 Games are over, the Olympic Park will become the largest new urban park in Europe for over a century. In addition to converting some of the world-class sports venues for ongoing use, there will also be new homes, places of work, schools, health facilities, public transport and more.

Several of the world-class sporting venues that will be used during the Games will remain in the Park providing permanent, state-of-art facilities that will give a unique character to the area.

To ensure the legacy plans are deliverable and realistic, running alongside the design work is a detailed Business planning process. This work feeds into the design plans as they are being developed to ensure the long-term success of the Park and the venues.

The London 2012 Games aspire to be the greenest ever. The environment is hugely important in the legacy after the Games. As well as creating an amazing new park and other green spaces, the buildings and layout will aim to have low impacts on the environment and help people to live greener lives.

Emerging plans showing what the Park will be like after the Games will be added as they are developed.
